Flame retardant reflective fabric is composed of micro-glass beads bonded to FR-treated cotton or 100% aramid fabric backing. It reflects light directly to the original light source and enhances the visibility of anyone who wears it. Suitable for applications for fire fighting and technical rescue clothing and equipment.

The FR reflective tapes on firefighter protective clothing retain an important safety role in allowing firefighters to be seen and recognized in emergencies.
The FR reflective tape is provided on firefighter clothing to enhance firefighter visibility to others. This visibility is needed on the fire ground as well as for operations that take place at such places as disaster sites, where there may be moving machinery. The FR reflective tapes include both fluorescent and retro-reflective components for daytime and nighttime visibility of the firefighter.
For FR tape to be used in the construction of firefighter protective clothing, it must not only provide sufficient visibility in fluorescence and retroreflection properties (under expected fireground conditions of heat and wetness), but it must also be safe for use in extreme thermal exposures. For this reason, NFPA 1971 requires that tape must meet the same flame and heat-resistance requirements as other materials used in the manufacture of firefighter protective clothing. This means FR reflective tape must continue to function on the fireground and must not contribute to the injuries of the firefighter under adverse exposure conditions.
The perforated reflective tapes allow more air circulation due to multiple micro-holes made in the surface of the tapes. When the worker or firefighter exposed to an influx of heat, then there is a risk of more severe body burn in places where normal reflective tape positioned on FR-clothing. In such situation the perforated reflective tape helps to decrease body burn by letting extra-heat go away from under the tape.
